If you are wondering about the status of documentations -- whether they are already translated, or need an update, or if everything is alright -- just take a look at the documentation statistics for your language on the i18n server. These are daily (or almost daily;-) outputs of a script that is written and maintained by Tobias Burnus.
Since these statistics are automated and simply look at the date of the last file change you shouldn't totally rely on the results. Major changes in the documentation like the ongoing DocBook conversion or simple copy operations will also affect these statistics. So they will sometimes only give you a clue as to the real status of your files, although a good one most of the time.
A more reliable way (but also a much more laborious one) is using the log files and the "diff" feature of WebCVS where you can always see the almost complete history of any file in KDE, including the documentation files and their translations. This is also your best answer to the question: what version of the original documentation corresponds to the recent translation of this documentation in your team? Often this will not be a very satisfactory answer but the only alternative so far is to always make some accurate book-keeping inside your team as to when what version was translated and keeping copies of both, the former original and your translation yourself.
